‘Romania is attractive for foreign investors’

interview with Carl Widell, Managing Director, Ecolor SRL

What can you tell us about the activity of Ecolor in 2013? What were the most important steps you made?
We took some good steps in 2013. The turnover grew with 60 percent following important investments in new production technology during 2012.
How did you begin this year and what are your objectives for 2014? What are the novelties?
We are still growing. I expect that we will reach an approx. 57 million euro turnover for 2014.
We are investing 4-5 million euro this year in a new building and in new production equipment. The building extension is under construction. We are adding 8200 m2 to the existing facility. The total factory surface will then be 45.000 m2.
In this moment we have 450 employees, a figure that I believe will increase slightly until the end of the year.
What prospects do you have for the next year?
I expect a further growth.
What are your competitive advantages?
A skilled team. Short decision paths. Strong owners. Focus on automation. Raw material availability. Products sold on a global market.
How interesting is Romania for Swedish investors?
I would say that Romania is attractive for foreign investors. Personally I see a very big potential for this country. A more stable political situation would make Romania even more interesting for investors.
