Apemin ZIZIN, one of Romania’s major still and mineral water producers, reported a 34 percent increase in ZIZIN product sales in the first quarter of 2014 compared with the same period last year. “With a turnover of over EUR 4.5 million for the ZIZIN brand, the company continues its upward trend on a slightly declining market,” Laura Lazar, Executive Director at Apemin ZIZIN, stated in a press conference. In 2013, the natural mineral water producer began an internal restructuring and rebranding process aimed at optimizing sales and distribution, developing the logistics department, and supplementing production capacities. The logo, packaging, message, and advertisement method of the ZIZIN brand were among the elements changed in this process for which the company allotted EUR 400,000. Apemin ZIZIN bottles 14 million liters of still and mineral water (60 percent) every month. The ZIZIN brand accounts for 46 percent of the company’s overall turnover of over EUR 10 million in 2013. A significant percentage of revenue comes from private retail brands – 64 percent. The company originating from Brasov was the first to introduce the 5 liters still water bottle on the Romanian market, in 1998.
