Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Petre Daea had a working meeting with the leadership of the Agency for Rural Investment Financing (AFIR) at central, regional and county level to increase the absorption of European funds, informs AFIR on Friday.
The purpose of the meeting was to analyze the implementation of the 2014-2020 National Rural Development Programme (NRDP) and to identify the problems that arise in the process of accessing European funds for agriculture and rural development.
At the same time, in each county office and regional center of AFIR, the way to accelerate the absorption of European funds has been punctually assessed, so that at the end of 2017, the target of 1.6 billion euro European funds reimbursed by the European Commission for investment projects and the compensatory measures financed through the NRDP be reached.
“This working session allows us to consult with each county in turn, and to find together the necessary solutions to bring the money, as soon as possible, into the country, for agriculture and the development of the Romanian village. I assure you of all the support and my availability to solve the problems that hamper the achievement of the goal we have set ourselves as an absorption target for this year,” Agriculture Minister Petre Daea said.
It has also been established that monthly meetings will be held to analyze the state of implementation of the 2014-2020 National Rural Development Programme and to find tangible solutions to the problems raised by each territorial structure.
The working session was attended by Secretary of State Alexandru Potor, General Manager of AFIR Adrian Chesnoiu and Director General of Rural Development Directorate General – AM PNDR Florentina Tudor.
