Allview, the most important local IT&C producer, launched its new top of the line smartphone yesterday – the X1 Soul. The X1 Soul is a single-SIM phone, Lucian Peticila, General Manager Allview said in a press conference, not a dual-SIM one like the Brasov-based producer had accustomed its clients with until now. X1 Soul can be bought from partner stores for RON 1,599. Allview hopes to sell 2,500 units by the end of this year. The smartphone’s cover is made out of textured polycarbonate and has a magnesium body that gives enhanced resistance to the structure. The design is of unibody type (like in the iPhone 5C case). The 5-inch display has fullHD resolution, with a density of 441 ppi. The smartphone has a quad-core Mediatek 1.5 Ghz processor built on Cortex A7 architecture, 2GB of RAM and a 32 GB HDD. It has a 2,000 mAh battery. It has two photo cameras – 13 and 5MP respectively – and the main camera has several special functions. For instance, it can snap 99 photos in 21 seconds. The most interesting part of this terminal is that it can be controlled through gestures, just like the LG G2 or the Samsung Galaxy S4. Thus, pointing down the phone’s front side activates the silent mode, phone calls can be answered by moving the hand across the screen, video clips automatically stop when the user takes his eyes off the screen etc. Likewise, the smartphone also has a security function that allows the activation of a “guest” profile when we give the phone to someone else but we do not want that person to have access to our agenda, SMSs or browsing history.
