Apa Nova to hike water and sewage tariff in March

In March the Apa Nova company will hike by RON 0.75 the price of a cubic meter of water distributed to clients in Bucharest, in order to obtain the money needed for the investments that the Bucharest City Hall has demanded, promising nevertheless that tariffs will drop by 23 per cent by the end of 2016, an Apa Nova communiqué quoted by Mediafax shows. After this hike a family will pay 3.5 per cent of its monthly income on the water and sewage bill. “However, by the end of 2016, as a consequence of finalizing important investments for Bucharesters the tariffs for water and sewage services will drop by 23 per cent because the periods of implementing some tariff adjustments will end. This drop is calculated without taking into account the inflation rate and other extraordinary tariff adjustments,” the communiqué adds.
