“The year 2018 brings a series of important changes and investments at the level of the network of BMW dealerships, simultaneously with the launch of several completely new market models for the BMW and MINI brands. At the end of 2017, I took the decision to unify all BMW dealerships under a single name – Automobile Bavaria – so as to be able to boost the Group’s notoriety and visibility at national level and to better respond to our clients’ mobility and accessibility demands. At the end of 2017, we were the first to launch the new BMW X3 during a special event attended by almost 500 guests, in order to faster satisfy our clients’ expectations and need for information on one of the most successful models sold by BMW in Romania. Since its first launch, in 2003, Automobile Bavaria has sold over 4,000 units on the local market alone.
“For the premium car rental services offered by Bavaria Mobility, the Group’s new car rental business, we have invested EUR 3 million in an 80-car fleet consisting exclusively of BMW and MINI models. Our objective for 2018 is to grow the fleet to 140 units and to implement value-added services for clients.
“This year our main objective is to consolidate our leadership position within the BMW network in Romania, by continuing to invest in modernisation and the implementation of the newest BMW standards at the level of the network of auto service shops, as well as the launch of the BMW X2, BMW M5, BMW Series 8, BMW X4, BMW X5 and BMW X7 on the Romanian market.
“From the Group’s perspective, we plan to continue the strategy of diversifying the portfolio of brands we represent. At the end of March, we plan the official opening of the Opel dealership in Targu Mures, and in parallel we are engaged in advanced talks on bringing other brands in our Group,” Automobile Bavaria Group President Michael Schmidt explained.
