Basescu asks INM graduates to react to the laws favouring criminals

President Traian Basescu received yesterday at Cotroceni the new graduates of the National Institute of Magistracy (INM), whom he told that it is a bad thing to tamper with the laws on justice and recommended to react to the laws whose content favours the criminal and prevents the state to fight corruption. “Only you can defend yourselves,” Basescu told the magistrates, referring to political pressures. “When you will notice that laws imposed by politicians diminish the capacity of justice, react and do not accept the Romanian justice being placed under political control,” the president mentioned, quoted by Mediafax. Concluding his speech, Basescu told the new magistrates, with tears in his eyes: “If I ever will come in the court where you work, please remember that nobody is above the law.”
