Blejnar demands Diana Severin pay EUR 1 M in compensations for moral damages

Sorin Blejnar, former president of the National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF)on Tuesday announced that he demands that Diana Severin, a former  Prahova Co. director, pay him EUR 1 M in compensations for moral damages over her calling him the “corruption queen” of Romanian customs, after he originally demanded that Severin retract her statement and pay compensations for moral damages worth RON 1. At Tuesday’s court date, Blejnar’s lawyer said that Blejnar now demands EUR 1 M in RON at the RON/EUR exchange rate on payment date. Five volunteer witnesses were also scheduled to testify in court in connection to the case. However, only three of them were present, with one of the two missing in court saying he will no longer testify given the threats made against him, the court president said.
