Banking personality Bogdan Baltazar passed away on Friday, December 28, at the Elias Hospital in Bucharest, age 73, Mediafax informs. He died after a long suffering, medical authorities say.
Baltazar had been chairman of the administration board with BRD – Groupe Société Générale starting 1998 until October 2004.
Bogdan Baltazar came into the public spotlight after 1989. In June 1990 he was appointed state secretary with the Romanian government, as he led the public information department until July 1991, being the first government spokesman for the Petre Roman cabinet.
For five years Baltazar had been superior adviser and coordinator for Romania with EBRD in London.
