Among those present at this year’s Bookfest Iasi will be writers Herta Muller, Larry Watts and Lucian Boia who will meet with readers.
Herta Muller, Andrei Kurkov, Lucian Boia, Ioana Parvulescu, Larry Watts, Emil Brumaru and other well-known personalities will meet the readers at Bookfest Iasi, during October 25 to 27, at the Hall of Lost Steps within the “Al. I. Cuza” University, according to Mediafax.
At Bookfest Iasi, the readers will have the opportunity to meet the best books, which will be there at the best prices, but also some of the most famous authors of our time. Approximately 30,000 volumes await the visitors at Bookfest Iasi, most having discounts of about 50 percent compared to the price in the bookstores, brought there by the top publishers in our country – Humanitas, Polirom, Curtea Veche, Rao, Litera, Art, All, Corint, Nemira, Eikon, Trei, but also by strong local publishing houses such as Gama, Doxologia and Adenium.
Bookfest awaits the readers to meet with important names on the Romanian and international literary stage.
Humanitas Publishing House has prepared a series of events for all tastes. Historian Lucian Boia comes to this edition for presenting the collection edition of the “Traps of history” book, in the company of Alexandru-Florin Platon, the director of the Center for European Studies at Cuza University. Poet Emil Brumaru will present his book entitled “Angels’ Reservation” and Ioana Parvulescu, laureate of the European Union Prize for Literature in 2013, will launch the novel “The future starts on Monday”. Professor Stefan Afloroaei, director of the Hermeneutics Center within Cuza University, will tell the readers the story of his book “Looking at the world of the absurd in a different way”, freshly published by Humanitas.
At 169 years since the birth of Friedrich Nietzsche (October 15th, 1844), Humanitas will present the new appearences dedicated to the philosopher: “The cheerful science”, “The philosophy in the tragic age of the Greeks” and “Ecce Homo”. The event will be supported by George Bondor, assisted by Stefan Afloroaei, Liviu Antonesei and Alexandru-Florin Platon.
Historian Larry Watts comes to Iasi to present the public the two successful books about the Cold War period, “Protect me, my Lord, from my friends” and “The last shall be first”, published by Rao. Rector of the Military Academy, Lieutenant General Theodor Frunzetti, returns in Iasi with the volume “Marshals of Romania”, which he coordinated and that the publishing house launch it in premiere at Bookfest Iasi.
