More than 3.7 million passengers transited the two airports of Bucharest over the first half of 2014. The figure is 7 percent up year-on-year, while the number of airplanes also advanced 4 percent, the Bucharest Airports National Company informed in a release. June set a record with 800,993 passengers, up nearly 11 percent compared to the same months of 2013; also in June, 10 percent more airplanes used the two airports, in a total of 9,558 landings and take-offs. This created the premise for reaching the 8 million passengers threshold in 2014, the release reads. At present, 37 airlines operate on the Henri Coanda International Airport of Bucharest (AIHCB), to 87 destinations. Two of them came in 2013 – easyJet Air and Air Serbia. In 20143, Ryanair and Air Baltic operated their first regular flights at AIHCB.
