The Start-Up Nation Programme will also continue in 2018 and the companies that were established this year and did not receive funding could also sign up next year, Minister for Business Environment, Trade and Entrepreneurship Ilan Laufer stated on Wednesday, on the occasion of his book launch called “Romania Start-Up Nation. The new generation of entrepreneurs.”

“This programme will definitely continue in 2018. It’s one of the most important programmes for the business environment and for youngsters that any government of the European Union has had in recent years,” the Minister stated.

He added that, although the legislation regarding this programme stipulates that companies have, at most, one year since their establishment, he wants to amend this provision so that all those who set up a company this year and didn’t get their funding approved be able to sign up next year.

About the book launched on Wednesday, Laufer mentioned: “I found it is necessary that all the experience gathered this year with the programme, with hundreds of questions and procedures, be put on paper. So that we can better understand what this programme means and what is its extent for the development of Romania’s ecosystem, and it will be easy, with the help of this book, for those who will want to implement them in the future. I also introduced in it 50 ideas of business plans that I found the most interesting, from all the regions of the country, so those who implement them understand what are the areas in which it was applied, besides IT and manufacturing.”
