The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), on Thursday launched the book “Prima mea investitie” (My First Investment) that comprises ten stories about the local capital market told by local stock exchange investors.

“The book tells the story of several investors who have discovered their passion for stock market early, during high school, or later, after the age of 50. They are people with different lives, with different experiences, located throughout Romania or overseas. Each of the ten stories is a barometer of the mood that the exchange can give you,” BVB said Thursday in a press statement.

“My First Investment” is a project launched for the National Investment Day, an initiative to set up such a day on May 15 each year.

“Perhaps for a long time, we have missed the examples, but now we have them and they are more obvious than ever. We have examples of stock listings, bond issuances, investor experiences. All we have to do from now on is to follow these examples. Besides money or time, being an investor is a state of mind,” said Ludwik Sobolewski, Bucharest Stock Exchange CEO, at the launch of the book.

In her turn the book’s author, Natalia Negru, said that the discussion with the 10 investors that appeared in the book was a pleasant one.

“We had a normal conversation and we told stories; it was not an interview. I hope it was a nice talk. I would like to thank all 10 who have accepted to tell their story and be included in this book. There are 10 investors who have told their story and I hope you will find an inspiration by reading this book because being investor is not impossible to accomplish, it is just one step away,” said Negru.

The distribution of the book in the bookstores in Bucharest and throughout the country represents a natural follow up of this approach. BVB established partnerships for the distribution of the book “My first investment” with the bookstores Carturesti, Diverta, eMAG and Inmedio network together with NewMoney magazine .
