The birth date of the European project, 9th of May, 1950, marks the historical declaration of the French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman, by which he proposed an economic cooperation plan between France and Germany, to which many other states on the continent also joined later.

Excelsior Theater is a cultural institution founded in 1990, at the initiative of Master Ion Luchian, being subordinated to the General Council of the Bucharest Municipality since 1999. By performing spectacles for children and young people aged from 3 to 18, Excelsior Theater contributes to the education and transformation of this segment of public, encouraging them to involve in the cultural life. Through the series of events organized in partnership with the Cantus Mundi National Program, conducted by the National Chamber Choir “Madrigal-Marin Constantin”, Excelsior Theater contributes to creating the proper environment for the personal development by the manifestation of the artistic side of the young people in Bucharest and in the country.

Initiated in 2011 by conductor Ion Marin, based on the volunteering of the Madrigal Choir Members, the Cantus Mundi National Program was institutionalized by the Government’s Decision no.821/2014, thus becoming, from a simple idea, a Department of the institution subordinated to the Culture Ministry – the National Chamber Choir “Madrigal-Marin Constantin”. Cantus Mundi places talent, education and cultural development of the Romanian young people on the map. In 7 years, 4100 conductors and 250,000 choristers in the 41 counties of Romania will be part of the Cantus Mundi National Program. The Program’s objective is to make every school in Romania have a choir in 2018, when 100 years since the Great Union will be celebrated.
