Cartarescu’s “Nostalgia” awarded Tormenta Spanish prize

Writer Mircea Cartarescu is the winner of Tormenta al mejor libro de autor extranjero prize for the Spanish edition of his volume “Nostalgia,” reports a release quoted by Mediafax. The finalists of 2013 were, along Mircea Cartarescu, Richard Ford and John Irving. Published at the prestigious publishing house Impedimenta of Madrid and translated by Marian Ochoa de Eribe, “Nostalgia” was considered by the Spanish media as one of the best foreign books released in 2012. In Romania, in late 2013, twenty years after the first release in complete edition, “Nostalgia” was among the best selling titles of Humanitas publishing house, with 50,000 copies sold.
