The Coface Group, expert in credit insurance, will be opening an IT development center in Bucharest at the beginning of April, employing 80 people.
The opening of the center is designed to support Coface’s ambition to become the most agile global trade credit partner in the industry. As part of the Group’s strategic plan, a large number of projects have been initiated aiming to extend and consolidate Coface’s information systems. In the credit insurance sector off-the-shelf software does not exist for all “core” business activities, which leads Coface to develop the most critical core business applications internally.
The setting up of a new IT development center based in Bucharest is part of Coface’s new strategic plan to become the most agile global trade credit partner in the industry. The center will allow Coface to better concentrate its efforts and expertise. All the IT specialists the company plans to recruit will benefit from internal and external training programs, in order to keep the teams up-to-date on the technical level: training deals on a range of functional, methodological and technical topics will ensure internal staff are able to progress continuously in different areas.
The hardware infrastructure is centralized in a unique Data-center fully secured and located around Paris (based in two physical Data-centers linked in active-active mode within 50km distance). All Coface servers are managed in this Data-center including servers for specific countries. Voice over IP and videoconferencing systems are deployed in all countries associated with a strong and full collaborative eco-system. Production servers are running mainly on Linux. Major Middleware is J2EE, ORACLE Database, IBM Data Stage ETL and EZ Publish for content management.
The use of the latest technologies ensures the effectiveness of Coface’s information systems.
Coface is present directly or indirectly in 100 countries, with the ability to provide credit insurance cover for its clients in approximately 200 countries. The Group’s international network also enables Coface to offer multinationals a structure suited to their needs that combines global reach and proximity, with a deep knowledge of local economic conditions in multiple sectors
“We are looking for people who have experience in software technologies such as AngularJS, PhoneGap, Spring MVC, Jackson, JSF, Struts etc. and who are both open minded and technical. We require knowledge of English and the willingness to learn and to be part of a multinational company with a variety of challenging projects”, Eugen Anicescu (photo), Country Manager, Coface Romania, stated.
