Conductor David Gimenez returns to National Radio Orchestra this Friday

Conductor David Gimenez, nephew of the famous tenor Jose Carreras, returns at the National Radio Orchestra with a Beethoven – Chopin – Tchaikovsky concert to be held Friday, 7.00 p.m. at the Radio Hall in Bucharest, a press release cited by Mediafax informs. The evening will open with Beethoven’s ‘Coriolan’ Overture, written as an introduction to a theatre play authored by his contemporary, Heinrich-Joseph von Collin. The program will continue with two of the Romantic genius’s most beloved works. Thus, audiences will enjoy Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 2 in F minor, which was composed by Chopin when he was about 20 years of age and performed by the composer himself for the first time in Warsaw. Pianist Dana Borsan, soloist of the Radio Orchestras and Radios, will perform next, followed by a performance of Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 in E minor, one of the Russian Romanticist’s last ever composed works that was conducted for the first time by Tchaikovsky himself. Through the latter work, the composer has managed to transpose his meditations on the relationship between man and destiny into music. Tickets can be purchased at, Romanian Post offices, Inmedio and Germanos stores, and the box office of the Radio Hall.
