National Defense Minister Mircea Dusa in Constanta (south-eastern Romania), on Monday, while referring to the Defense White Paper, said that Romania’s Army was capable of executing any mission, both on Romania’s territory and outside its borders. ‘According to the Defense planning law of 2004, this document called the Defense White Paper must be worked out every four years. It has never been drawn up before, now it has been drawn up as a first. This document also makes an X-ray of the situation of the Romanian Army over the past 10 years and of the measures we must take in the future for the Romanian Army to be equipped in order to be able to fulfill its duties both as far as national security is concerned and regarding the international obligations it has within NATO and the European Union,’ the Defense Minister said, quoted by Agerpres. According to him, the Defense White Paper is a very serious document assessing the way in which the Romanian Army was restructured. National Defense Minister Mircea Dusa in the Port of Constanta on Monday participated in the ceremony on the occasion of the arrival of ‘Regina Maria’ frigate, which in October participated in the ‘Active Endeavour’ operation, an action conducted in the Mediterranean Sea, under NATO coordination.
