Deputy PM Liviu Dragnea has stated on Monday in Zalau that the Ministry for Regional Development and Public Administration (MDRAP) earlier in the day has forwarded two important programmes to Brussels for approval, namely the Regional Operational Program (ROP) and the Operational Programme Administrative Capacity Development (OPACD), for which it requested funds amounting to around seven billion euro. The Deputy PM expected the European Commission to give its approval on the two programmes within the next three months at the most.
‘Today, we have officially submitted to Brussels for approval two important programmes – POR and PODCA. We are speaking of programmes worth approximately seven billion euro. Practically – within three months at the most the Commission will give its approval on these programs, following next we start financing projects. We have to wait for maximum two or three months’, said Liviu Dragnea during a press conference.
The Deputy PM and MDRAP Minister, Liviu Dragnea, has emphasized that he expects local authorities to have projects ready for submission and financing, so that precious time is not lost as it happened in the previous financial exercise.
‘I expect all local authorities to have the papers ready according to the guide that we made public so that immediately, the second day after receiving approval from the Commission, we may be able to submit the projects. We don’t want to lose again precious years under this financial exercise. Because, unfortunately, we had, until 2012, for example, at us, under the ROP, absorption worth 656 million in six years, so an average of 100 million euro per year and since we took over we reached absorption of 1.2 billion euro per year. Years lost for development. We now have all the conditions, all the simplified procedures, so that immediately, in November, projects be submitted’, said Dragnea.
