Diplomatic passports for “the ambassadors of Romanian tourism”


Nadia Comaneci, Maia Morgenstern, Dinu Sararu,Dumitru Prunariu, Dan Puric, Ilie Nastase, Oana Pellea,Elisabeta Lipa, Ovidiu Lipan and Helmuth Duckadam were offered Thursday diplomatic passports by the minister of Foreign Affairs, Titus Corlatean, as they were designated“ambassadors of the Romanian tourism.” Theexperiment took place as part of the programme“Romania Promoted by its Values,” initiated by the formerdelegate minister for Tourism, Maria Grapini. “Werepresented Romania, somehow informally, because wedid not formally have this responsibility, through what weaccomplished during our careers, and even after we endedthe careers we continued to represent Romania and what Romania means to us, because it is here that we were created.We became what we were also due to the fact thatwe were born here, we enjoyed help and support and it isnice seeing the recognition of this value, which is diversitynow,” Nadia Comaneci said at the end of the ceremony,quoted by Mediafax. “We all somehow identify ourselveswith this country. We were all born here, we wantto do good things and it is nice that they through of usnow. Even now, we represented Romania,” Ilie Nastasesaid in turn. The project “Romania Promoted by itsValues” was launched at the initiative of the Departmentfor SMEs, Business Environment and Tourism. He startedwith the event “Ambassadors of Romanian Tourism,”held on August 19, 2013. The project represents a newform of promoting Romania, which aims at completingthe image campaigns currently under way.
