Director of District 2’s Public Domain Administration (ADP) Cristian Lemnaru showed up yesterday at the Supreme Court’s prosecutor’s office in order to be heard in the case of Ionut Anghel, the 4 –year-old boy who died on September 2 after he was attacked by stray dogs in Bucharest. Before entering the prosecutor’s office of the High Court of Cassation and Justice (ICCJ), Lemnaru stated he is not responsible for this tragedy and that it is not ADP’s responsibility to collect stray dogs from the streets, adding that he wants to make no more statements on this file, as the allegations brought against him are “pretty serious”. The prosecutors have ordered the initiation of criminal proceedings against District 2’s Public Domain Administration, the representatives of SC Tei Rezidential and Constantin Ciorascu, the owner of the land where Ionut Anghel was killed by stray dogs. Criminal proceedings are now underway over alleged manslaughter. According to some sources quoted by the journalists of the Ring daily, the parents of Ionut Anghel are seeking 1 million euros in compensation for the death of their son, information denied by the child’s father.
