DNA: Investigation into waste distribution

On Wednesday, the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) performed searches at 31 locations (residences of natural persons and headquarters of companies) from 7 counties (Bacau, Dolj, Mehedinti, Mures, Olt, Giurgiu, and Brasov), as part of an investigation into tax evasion infractions related to waste distribution, a DNA press release shows. Prosecutors are working the case together with the Romanian Intelligence Service and the General Inspectorate of Romanian Gendarmerie. The searches were carried out in connection with a file compiled by DNA prosecutors at the Territorial Service of Targu Mures based on suspicion of tax evasion infractions committed by a group of companies from Iasi County, which resulted in estimated damages of 1 million euros. Multiple documents were seized during the searches and financial findings will be used to establish the scope of the infractions.
