In this regard, Minister Liviu Pop highlighted the main priority of Romania’s Presidency, skills, respectively, with an emphasis on the digital and linguistic skills, in the broader context of the New Skills Agenda for Europe,” the release mentions.

Moreover, the Romanian dignitary expressed MEN’s intention to organise in Brussels, in the context of participating in the Education Council on November 2017, a preparatory meeting for the Romania – Finland – Croatia trio programme, which will also be attended by representatives of the European Commission.

The European Commissioner appreciated MEN’s initiative and extended, in his turn, an invitation to Minister Pop, to attend the high-level meeting regarding education, which is to take place on 25 January 2018 in Brussels, that will focus on basic skills of Europe’s youngsters, the urgent need to solve the inequalities issue in the education systems and the necessity of several greater investments in education.
