EUR 20 million for education in Republic of Moldova


The Romanian government will grant over EUR 20 million to the Republic of Moldova to invest in the education system, in accordance with an agreement concluded between the two delegate ministries, Prime Minister Victor Ponta announced, mentioning he had discussed the matter with the Moldovan PM on Wednesday. “Today, I had a talk with Mr. Leanca, Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, and based on our savings and work this year, approximately RON 80 million – almost EUR 20 million – will be spent by the Romanian Government to help develop the education system in the Republic of Moldova, based on a partnership between the two ministries,” Ponta said, according to Mediafax.

    I suspect that is a lot more than is being spent on developing the education system in rural communities on the Romanian side of the border.
