Romania’s Alin George Moldoveanu won the gold medal on Monday in the 10-meter air rifle event at the Olympic Games in London. Italy’s Niccolo Campriani finished on second place. This is the Romanian delegation’s first gold medal at the London Olympic Games. Moldoveanu qualified for the final after he scored 599 points, managing to equal the Olympic record, Agerpres informs. Alin finished the qualifiers on second place, in a tie with Italy’s Niccolo Campriani, but the difference was made based on the number of bullets shot. The 599 points equaled the Olympic record set by China’s Zhu Qinan in Athens in 2004.
