Geoana: SRI Head George Maior to join PSD
On a Realitatea TV program Tuesday evening, Social-Democrat Senator Mircea Geoana said he believed George Maior would be back in the Social Democratic Party (PSD) once he serves his term as head of the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) and sees his return as a gain for the party. An advertising campaign run by several television channels featured the SRI head promoting the social-democratia.eu website. The footage featuring Maior also included Premier Victor Ponta and other European Social-Democrat leaders. The National Audiovisual Council (CNA) on Tuesday summoned the Romania TV and Realitatea TV channels to no longer run the advertising clips as the audiovisual legislation forbids the running of political advertisement other than during electoral campaigns.
