On Wednesday, the Government adopted an emergency ordinance extending the deadline for the lodging of Fiscal Statement 600 from January 31 to April 15. The Finance Ministry will next have to find a permanent solution that would consist of the lodging of a single form by taxpayers earning incomes from independent activities.

“The measure was taken in order to hike the taxpayers’ degree of compliance with the new statement requirements and the fulfilment of the statement obligations instituted in order to establish the mandatory social contributions – the social security contribution and the healthcare contribution,” the Government explains.

At the start of the Government meeting, Premier Viorica Dancila stated that the Finance Ministry will next have to find a permanent solution that would consist of the lodging of a single form by taxpayers earning incomes from independent activities.

“Today we will adopt an emergency ordinance proroguing the deadline for the lodging of Fiscal Statement 600 from January 31 to April 15. During the upcoming period, the Finance Ministry must identify a permanent solution that would consist of the lodging of a single form by taxpayers earning incomes from independent activities, and the payment should be done once per year and not in advance,” Viorica Dancila announced.

According to the Government, approximately 28,500 fiscal statements have been lodged so far, out of an estimated total of 210,000 for the incomes registered in 2016.
