In the month that highlights the concern for environmental protection – June – Groupe Renault Romania launched the foundation with the same name. The company announced its establishment at an event organized right in the middle of the nature, namely at the Botanical Garden in Bucharest.
Mobilizing for a better world and Access to art and culture are the two areas under which the Groupe Renault Romania Foundation will work in the future.
“Groupe Renault Romania looks to the future, to the generations that will emphasize the signal of change, regardless of the field of activity. If today, with the launch of our Foundation, we chose to connect you to the environment and its issues, in the future we will detail projects that also support our strategic corporate social responsibility directions. By the end of 2019, together with our partners from ‘Plantam fapte bune in Romania’, we will support with planting material the planting of 30,000 trees at national level. Their number was not chosen by accident. Last year, thanks to the REMAT program, nearly 30,000 new vehicles were sold, complying with environmental standards. This is complemented by three internal volunteering initiatives in Bucharest, Mioveni and Titu”, said Antoine Doucerain, President of Groupe Renault Romania Foundation and General Manager of Groupe Renault Romania.
The long-term goal of the Groupe Renault Romania Foundation is to consolidate the commitment of the company, which has a 19-year presence in Romania, by supporting initiatives for the support of the society, in two main areas that have been part of Groupe Renault’s commitments for many years:
- MOBILIZE, with two themes: Inclusion through Education, Diversity, Social Enterprises and Sustainable Mobility through Environmental Protection and Road Safety.
- ACCESS TO AR AND CULTURE through Cinematographic Art, Contemporary Art and French Culture
By the end of 2019, Groupe Renault Romania will support with planting material the afforestation actions organized by “Plantam fapte bune in Romania” – planting trees on forest land with problems (degraded agricultural land with a risk of slipping, subject to the desertification phenomenon) or on land from within cities.
The Groupe Renault Romania Foundation was launched today, June 11. The launching event was attended by Antoine Doucerain, General Manager of Groupe Renault Romania, Oliver Faust, Groupe Renault Corporative Social Responsibility Manager, Cornel Brezuica, President of the Environment Fund Administration, Marin Toma, President of Ecoassist Association, legal representative of Plantam fapte bune in Romania, Paulina Anastasiu, Manager of the Botanical Garden, as well as by employees. Then they visited the green corner of the Groupe Renault Romania Foundation, where the company donated rare species of shrubs.
