Oltchim announced on Thursday that the first leg game against Gypor (in the women’s Champions League semifinals) will be played in Bucharest on April 6, a club communiqué shows. The club had initially announced that the game will be played in Ramnicu Valcea but considering that Bucharest’s Polivalenta Hall is larger it was preferred in order to give the fans the chance to come in larger numbers. “We have permanently informed the public about the team’s financial difficulties, it is known that the players have stayed at the team, even if they were unpaid for two months, only for the sake of fans and performance, and now when there is just a little to go before attaining the final goal there is the need for understanding more than ever.
This is the plea and call that the club has for fans to close ranks, to invite them to attend the two semifinal legs in as large numbers as possible,” the press communiqué reads.
