Petre Toba, the Head of the Romanian Police, announced on Monday, after the hearing of policewomen ended, that there are no gender discrimination problems, with 8 to 10 cases set to be investigated out of more than 6,200 female employees heard. According to Toba, the investigation demanded by Internal Affairs Minister Radu Stroe among all female employees of the Romanian Police, in order to discover possible cases of harassment or gender discrimination, shows that there is no problem from this point of view. Three weeks ago the Internal Affairs Ministry ordered a series of controls within county police inspectorates after a policewoman stabbed her former chief, accusing him of rape.
