Approximately RON 50,000 were allotted to 400 underprivileged children in Ciocanesti,Calarasi County, in two orphans’ homes in Slobozia, as well as in Serbesti, Bacau County,representing only a portion of the approx. EUR 57,000 raised in the first edition of thelargest charity event of the insurance market. The packages were offered by insurers and brokerswho attended the 2011 Charity Dinner, with the support of the Insurance ControlCommission (CSA), the National Union of Romanian Insurance and Re-insuranceCompanies (UNSAR) and the National Union of Insurance Mediation and ConsultancyCompanies in Romania (UNSICAR). The remaining funds will go, in the near future, toactions to assist children from Orphans’ Homes no. 2 and 3 in Slobozia, such as: the rehabilitationof sanitary units, building a multi-functional sports field, the donation of computers,books, clothes and medicine, as well as other actions needed to ensure better living conditionsfor the children.
