U.S. moves firepower to region as ISIS advance continues

Iraqi government forces are engagedin heavy clashes with Sunniinsurgents who have made majoradvances in the past week, theBBC informs.Reports say parts of the city ofBaquba – just 60km (37 miles)from Baghdad – were briefly takenover by the rebels.The prime minister of Iraq’sautonomous Kurdish region hastold the BBC he thinks Iraq maynot stay together.He said it would be very hard forIraq to return to the situation thatexisted before the Sunni militants,spearheaded by Islamic State in Iraqand the Levant (ISIS), took controlof the northern cities of Mosul andTikrit in a rapid advance last week,and Tal Afar on Monday.
