Isarescu, backed by PSD for new mandate of BNR Governor

Victor Ponta announced Monday that PSD will vote in favour of Mugur Isarescu staying as governor of the National Bank of Romania (BNR) for a new mandate, asked if the banker is “viable” for a new mandate at the top of the Central Bank. “Definitely yes. This is what we will vote,” Ponta answered, quoted by hotnews.ro.
This is not the case with BNR Deputy Governor Bogdan Olteanu. “I think that Bogdan Olteanu was a very good vice-president, but he is not in my jurisdiction,” he is a liberal, the prime minister explained.
Victor Ponta mentioned that in June will be elected, besides the Board of BNR, six new members of the Court of Audits, the Board of the public radio and the president of TVR.
