Jethro Tull returns to Romania with the great Ian Anderson

The iconic band Jethro Tull returns to Romania, at Sala Palatului in Bucharest on 20 June 2014, for a concert organised by Project Events, reads a communiqué.
The music legends return to our country together with Ian Anderson, and will once again fascinate their fans with their charming mix of hard rock, folk sounds and blues themes. The concert promotes the new album ‘Homo Erraticus.’ Besides the famous hits of the band, the show named “Jethro Tull’s IAN ANDERSON plays the best of JETHRO TULL” will include “Homo Erraticus”, an epic journey into the Progressive Rock pantheon of strangeness – in Anderson’s words. The show will be illustrated and completed by video and theatrical elements imbued of sensibility, according to the soul of the band, Ian Anderson.
Jethro Tull was founded in 1967 in Blackpool, England, to become a unique phenomenon in the history of music. Conceived as a psychedelic blues band, Jethro Tull adopted a complex music line that merges several styles, from blues, jazz and folk to medieval, classical and hard rock, with influences of electronic music. Their sounds are rooted in the British blues of the ‘60s and are marked by an uncommon voice tonality, mixed with the sound of flute. Initially, the band played an experimental blues rock, to which it later added elements of classic rock, folk, jazz or art rock. Among the bands contemporary to them, only ‘Yes’ had a success comparable to that of Jethro Tull, but Yes changed many of its components in time, which also led to changes of musical style, while Jethro Tull was remarkably stable until the ‘90s. Currently the band members are: Ian Anderson (flute, voice, acoustic guitar), Florian Opahle (electric guitar), Scott Hammond (drums), John O’Hara (keyboards), David Goodier (bass), with the vocal and theatrical support of Ryan O’Donnell.
Known as the man who brought the flute to rock music, Ian Anderson undoubtedly is the “brain” behind everything that Jethro Tull has created. Led by the singer, flutist, guitarist and composer Ian Anderson, Jethro Tull created its own way in music, largely due to the extraordinary intelligence of Ian, revolutionising the musical expression of the time. During their long career, Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull launched 30 albums and sold over 60 million copies all over the world.
