Minister of Justice Tudorel Toader on Tuesday announced, after his meeting with the unionist leaders from the National Administration Penitentiaries (ANP) that he will coordinate this institution personally, the same as all the other penitentiaries in the country, in order to stay in direct touch with the managers and leadership of these institutions.
“I will personally coordinate the National Administration of Penitentiaries and all penitentiaries. This does not mean that I will replace and do the job of the managers of such penitentiaries. This means that, from the Ministry of Justice, I will personally be in charge, directly, of ANP, for, one the one hand, I want to stay in direct touch with all the managers and the leadership of penitentiaries, and not through intermediaries and, on the other hand, they can discuss with me personally about any issue,” said Tudorel Toader.
He also specified that he has monthly meetings scheduled with the representatives of the trade unions, to discuss what it is to be done further.
“We established that, once a month, we will meet as we did today. This means that I will meet the representatives of the trade unions in the first Monday of every month, in the afternoon, right here, at the Ministry of Justice. We will see what it is to be done and what both parties should do next, the Ministry, on the one hand, and them, on the other hand. Thus we shall have continuity and there will also be new elements that will appear, for sure,” said Toader.
