Several students of the Urban Planning Faculty within the Architecture and Urban Planning University “Ion Mincu” in Bucharest, under the coordination of the Association of Urban Planning and Landscape Design Graduates (AAUPR), presented to the local councillors in Mangalia an urban planning and landscape design project to be run in Mangalia and the sea resorts Saturn, Venus, Cap Aurora, Jupiter, Neptun and Olimp, reports a press release.
Thus, a group of students inspected at the end of last year all the sea resorts in the southern part of the seaside during the workshop “Urban planning and landscape design on the Romanian seaside,” and found several solutions to develop the tourism major points in Mangalia area. “The two projects of restoration of Mangalia-Saturn and Jupiter-Neptun sea-cliffs are already worked upon, and once the 2014-2020 EU structural funds are available we are prepared to submit the necessary papers to restore the sea resorts,” said Cristian Radu, Mangalia city mayor. According to AAUPR president, Asist. PhD. Urban Planner Sebastian Guta, the stage of implementing the first actions will take place in late April, early May, and the strategy to implement these projects can stretch over five to six years.
