Laura Kovesi summoned before CSM’s Section for Prosecutors on Friday, to present point of view on Judicial Inspection’s report on DNA leadership’s activity

National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) Chief Prosecutor Laura Codruta Kovesi has been asked to go before the Supreme Magistracy Council’s (CSM) Section for Prosecutors on Friday, to present her point of view on the Judicial Inspection report on the activity of the DNA’s leadership.

Convening on Tuesday, CSM’s Section for Prosecutors established that the analysis of the Judicial Inspection’s report on managerial activity at the DNA should take place during several meetings.

Tuesday’s meeting established the first measures included in the timetable of analysis of the Judicial Inspection report on “the managerial efficiency of the central leadership of the National Anticorruption Directorate and the way it fulfilled its prerogatives stipulated by laws and regulations, as well as the DNA prosecutors’ and special auxiliary personnel’s observance of procedural norms and regulations.”

Thus, DNA Chief Prosecutor Laura Codruta Kovesi has been summoned before CSM’s Section for Prosecutors in order to present her point of view on the JI report.

Prosecutor Gheorghe Stan, Deputy Chief Inspector of the Judicial Inspection, is summoned before CSM’s Section for Prosecutors on Monday, October 16, at 10 a.m., while prosecutor and judicial auditor Elena Radescu, the coordinator of the auditing team, will have to go before CSM’s Section for Prosecutors on the same day, at noon.

On Friday evening, the DNA disclosed the conclusions of the Judicial Inspection report, pointing out that they are taken from the provisional document sent to the Directorate. The DNA states that it wants “the proper informing of the public opinion, bearing in mind the deficient way the Judicial Inspection managed this report.” This, against the backdrop in which information presented as the conclusions of the Judicial Inspection’s report had started to appear in the public space as early as last Wednesday. According to the conclusions of the document disclosed by the DNA, Chief Prosecutor Laura Codruta Kovesi “has the qualities required to continue to exercise the leadership position”.
