The RON/EUR exchange rate announced Monday by the National Bank of Romania (BNR) slid 0.65 bani to 4.4099, the lowest level of the last 10 months. The inter-banking market quotation for the euro is slightly on the rise based on trading volumes. A reference rate lower than Monday’s level was issued by BNR on July 31, 2013 – RON/EUR 4.4048. On Friday, BNR announced a slight drop in the RON/EUR reference exchange rate to 4.4164 units. BNR issued yesterday a RON/USD reference exchange rate of 3.2315, down by 0.95 bani. The leu gained ground relative to the Swiss franc as well and the BNR rate slid to RON 3.6111 from RON/CHF 3.6160 on Friday. It was the franc’s lowest level since December 2, 2013 when the reported exchange rate was RON/CHF 3.6007.
