Ciprian Oprea, CEO of the major local producer of garage doors, MCA Group, expects the Romanian market to be assaulted by new players in Eastern Europe and even Italy. The long-awaited influences in the West regarding the growth of the sectioned garage doors can be felt in Romania as well, believes Oprea. “What I can feel is the advancement to professionalism. That is why I expect that the middle-sized companies in Eastern Europe and small-sized companies in Italy, for instance, to enter the Romanian market. This type of companies will directly affect us and those smaller than us, but the companies that are representatives of internationally renowned brands,” explains Ciprian Oprea, CEO of MCA Group. According to an MCA analysis, the local market of garage doors went down last year by about 5 percent. The seasonal change that we got used to in Romania remained the same meaning that the first quarter of 2014 reports only about 10 percent of the annual sales of sectioned garage doors, as the demand will gradually increase in the second half of the year. As for the annual evolution of the market, the producer of garage doors expects an overall 5 percent increase, expecting a larger performance on the segment of industrial doors.
