New Bosch plant at Cluj, EUR 70 M investment

Bosch inaugurated on Friday in Jucu, Cluj County, its second facility in Romania, to be specialized in the production of automotive technology, where the company invested more than EUR 70 million. The same facility will also produce the ‘heart’ of the ‘eBike’ propulsion system for electric bicycles. The company is planning to hire here up to 750 employees by the end of the year. The company representatives have specified that an important argument for choosing Cluj as the location for the new facility was related to the presence here of such prestigious universities as The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca and The Babes-Bolyai University able to provide the high-skilled professionals needed by the German investor. Konrad Kashek, the General Manager of the Bosch facility in Cluj expressed the wish the Romanian state would build a link road that will connect the Cluj County with the M3 or the M 31 motorway in Hungary. Prime Minister Victor Ponta told at the opening ceremony that the investment conducted by the German company is highly important, reflecting the company’s trust in Romania. He mentioned that the state aid granted by the Romanian Government for the opening of the new factory in the Tetarom III Industrial Park, stood at EUR 25 million and is the best investment the Romanian Government can do.
