The Ford factory of Cologne, Germany, will be the only production source for the next generation of Ford Fiesta, the automaker announced, thus denying the speculations about a possible transfer of production of this model at the Craiova plant. “The plans of Ford regarding the Craiova plant are on long-term and the top management of our company still seeks opportunities to assimilate a second small-class model to be manufactured in Romania. We will release more information about this matter at the right moment,” said Ana-Maria Timis, the spokeswoman of Ford Romania. The small class models that the American automaker could start manufacturing soon on the European market, with Craiova being a possible destination, are Ford EcoSport and Ford Ka, currently assembled in India and Brazil, respectively.
