Nicusor Constantinescu’s request for removing legal control delayed

Bucharest Court of Appeal postponed on Thursday until June 30 the case of the appeal made by the prosecutors of the National Anti-Corruption Directorate (DNA) in the case in which chairman of Constanta County Council Nicusor Constantinescu’s legal control was removed. In other case, the Court of Appeal rejected on Wednesday the appeal made by Constantinescu’s lawyers regarding the lawfulness and grounds of the legal control ordered in his case by Bucharest Tribunal on June 4 after he had been indicted. On the other hand, DNA wants that the legal control measure to be replaced by preventive arrest, because Nicusor Constantinescu has not returned to Romania until June 11, as the court ruled, from the United States where he went for a medical control.
