Head of Constanta County Council Nicusor Constantinescu left for the US yesterday to be subjected to several medical investigations, his lawyer saying that if hospital admission is decided, he will again ask for an extension of lifting his client’s interdiction to leave the country, which comes into effect on February 1. According to lawyer Marius Mocanu, Constantinescu left the country together with his wife, and is to be admitted to Stanford Hospital of California. “There are basically medical investigations and their result will influence the doctors’ decision (whether it is necessary for him to stay for treatment as well or not – editor’s note),” said Mocanu, quoted by Mediafax. He said in case health issues are not revealed, Nicusor Constantinescu will return to the country on January 31.
