One millionth Duster produced by Renault


The Duster was manufactured at the factory in Curitiba, Brazil, the French group announced.

After only four years since the model was launched, Renault has manufactured the 1 millionth Duster car at a factory in Curitiba, Brazil and the car is scheduled to be delivered to a Brazilian client, the French group announced Friday, according to Mediafax.
The Duster model is produced in five factories under the Renault and Dacia brands and is sold in over 100 countries. “Duster is a success story. Part of the Renault brand, it completely meets the demands of international clients and has contributed to expanding the group’s business on emerging markets. The Dacia version sold in Europe and the markets in the Mediterranean basin has drawn new clients thanks to its true jeep design and features and accessible price,” Arnaud Debouef, Entry Program director at Renault, said.
According to Renault representatives, the model’s success is reflected in the fact that 1 million Duster cars have been sold within only four years since its launch.
Renault also manufactures Duster cars that are adapted to the cold climate in Russia, a version which uses various types of fuel sold in Brazil, and a right-hand wheel version for India.
The largest markets for the Duster model by size are Russia, with 151,633 cars sold under the Renault brand, France with 145,612 cars sold under the Dacia brand, and Brazil with 117,303 cars sold under the Renault brand. 85,974 Renault Duster vehicles were sold in India and 70,159 Duster Dacia cars were sold in Germany.
At present, Renault manufactures the Duster model in Pitesti, Curitiba (Brazil), Envigado (Columbia), Moscow (Russia), and Chennai (India). In 2013, Duster sales climbed to over 376,000 units.
