The starting prices at the tenders where suppliers buy electricity for domestic consumers will be by 20 per cent smaller in the second quarter of the year compared with the first three months, according to the data posted on the Website of the OPCOM energy exchange.
The auction session will take place on the Centralized Market for Universal Service (PCSU) on Monday, March 12.
Thus, the price for the energy delivered on a 24h basis will start from 192 lei per MWh in the second quarter of the year, compared with 245 lei, the initial price in the first quarter. For the energy supplied in the interval 6:00-22:00 (V1), the starting price will be 217 lei per MWh, compared with 272 lei per MWh, and for the peak hours, 17:00-22:00 (V2) respectively, the price will be 241 lei per MWh, compared with 302 lei.
The suppliers will be able to also buy energy that will be delivered to them on a monthly basis for the next quarters and even for the next years.
Thus, during the entire year, each month, the price for the energy to be delivered on a 24h basis will be between 191 and 201 lei per MWh. For the V1 interval, the price will be between 217 and 227 lei, and for the V2 interval the price will be between 241 and 253 lei per MWh.
For the energy to be delivered in the next year, until 2020, the prices charged will be between 205 and 231 lei per MWh.
According to OPCOM, there are five buyers on this market, suppliers of last resort respectively (Electrica Furnizare, CEZ Vanzare, E.ON Energie, Enel Energie and Enel Energie Muntenia) and 24 sellers (producers of energy and traders).
The auctions on the centralized market for universal service will be held on a monthly basis for the products with annual, half-yearly, quarterly and monthly delivery periods.
Trading will be done online, from the terminals of the participants registered in the market. The offers and the transactions will be done anonymously, without knowing the identity of the participants who submitted offers.
The quantity and the price of the purchase/sale offers and transactions will be visible to all participants in the PCSU. The publication of the opening prices for each auction related to each product to be traded will be made by 3 working days before the opening of the auction session.
