Opportunities in research collaboration between the US and Romania, as well as the possibilities of developing them within the framework of the strategic partnership were presented by Higher Education, Scientific Research and Technological Development Minister Mihnea Costoiu in a meeting with John Holdren, Assistant to the President for Science and Technology, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and Co-Chair of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST). According to a press release quoted by Agerpres, the parties agreed to commence in the following period a series of new projects in research and academic exchanges delivered by the representatives of the two administrations. The meeting took place on the occasion of the Romanian delegation’s participation at the International Forum for Space Exploration, in Washington DC. The Romanian delegation was headed by Minister Mihnea Costoiu.
Yesterday, Costoiu met with Romanian personalities working in the academic field and in the US research sector, as well as with Romanian students, at an event hosted by Romania’s Embassy in Washington DC. Mihnea Costoiu has started an official visit to the United States of America on Monday, January 6, which is to end today (January 14).
