PM’s Control Body notifies Prosecutor’s Office

Prime Minister’s Control Body has notified the Prosecutor’s Office about possible criminal offences regarding the implementation of projects funded from the budget of the Environment Fund, under the national programme aimed at improving the environmental quality by building green areas in 11 localities, Piatra-Neamt included. Governmental sources, quoted by Mediafax, claim that some of the irregularities would have been identified when Elena Udrea has been ad-interim at the helm of the Environment Ministry , the institution that manages the environment fund. We point out the fact that Udrea, as minister of development in the PDL Cabinet, held the position of interim environment minister over Nov. – Dec. 2009, following PSD’s pulling out of the ruling coalition. “Given that the verifications carried out at the eleven authorities of the local public administration, concerning the implementation of projects funded from the budget of the Environment Fund, under the national programme aimed at improving the environmental quality by building green areas in localities, revealed indication on documents and operations meeting the constitutive elements of possible criminal offences (forgery, forgery in deeds by private signature, forgery in official statements, abuse of office against public interests, malfeasance in office, embezzlement of funds) … (…),” reads the 2009-2012 report of the PM’s Control Body.
