All pensions will be indexed by 3.75 percent, but as for the salaries of the public servants this growth will not apply to high salaries. They will try either to increase in the minimum salary or this growth will be given to targeted categories, where the employees have low incomes, said Monday evening Premier Victor Ponta at Realitatea TV.
The Prime Minister made this clarification in the context in which he had previously informed of the fact that the budget for 2014 provided for increases in pensions and salaries, but it is only people living on low incomes and some special categories that will benefit by them. As for the salaries in the budget system, they will not grow for the employees living on high incomes, but for those professional categories earning low salaries.
‘But when it comes to salaries, I wanted to say – and this is a discussion I also had with the Minister of Finance, Mr Chitoiu – out of that fund of about 3 percent from which we can increase the salary cover, the idea was for us to increase everybody’s salary by 3 percent as especially for high salaries, the increase is not quite significant, but let us try either to increase the minimum salary, or to increase the salaries of targeted categories, we are referring to residents, we are referring to teachers starting their didactic activity, people living on low incomes in the budget sector,’ said the Prime Minister.
