The Romanian PM will be received by the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, and will also meet the Chair of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Zhang Dejiang.
The talks should review the status of bilateral relations, with focus on the implementation of the projects agreed upon previous bilateral meetings in Bucharest, especially in the fields of energy, infrastructure, agriculture, education and culture.
Another topic on the agenda concerns the consolidation of the relations between the European Union and China, and future actions within the Central and Eastern Europe – China cooperation format for the implementation of agreements of the 2013 Summit in Bucharest.
On the sidelines of this visit, the Romanian PM will participate in an economic meeting of representatives of the top Chinese companies and banks operating or willing to invest in Romania.
Ponta will also take the high-speed train to Tianjin on Tuesday, to visit the technology park there and meet representatives of companies operating in the park, in the IT, car parts, bio products, tooling and other industries.
