President Basescu, PM Ponta meet on budget and IMF issues
President Traian Basescu and PM Victor Ponta met on Thursday to discuss issues related to the state budget for 2013 and the incoming IMF delegation evaluation visit, Mediafax reports.
According to the presidential spokesman Bogdan Oprea the talks lasted an hour and a half and focused on the budget and on financing deficits.
The IMF delegation is expected to visit Romania during 15-29th January for evaluations regarding the 2013 budget, structural reforms and monetary policy.
During a talk-show Thursday evening PM Ponta said he has had phone conversations with UDMR leader Kelemen Hunor and the leader of national minorities Varujan Pambuccian regarding the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism (CVM) and the amendment of the constitution. Ponta said he wants to discuss the same issues with PDL head Vasile Blaga
